Applix Partners with Frontline Now! for Linux Channel Distribution
Frontline Now! to expand sales channels for Applixware Office for Linux
Westboro, MA, September 23, 1999 -- Applix, Inc. (NASDAQ:APLX), the leader in Linux application software announced today that it has chosen Frontline Now! to expand the Applixware presence in the retail, catalog, e-tail, corporate reseller, and academic markets. Under the agreement, Frontline Now! will use its extensive sales force to promote Applixware Office to distributors and resellers throughout the United States and Canada.
Frontline Now! provides Applix an integrated resource of channel account managers, channel marketing managers and a large field sales force in over 100 major cities, to develop retail sales through computer superstores, office superstores and on-campus stores. Frontline Now! will also develop the Applixware Office for Linux brand at online catalog web sites and other popular Linux e-commerce sites, as well as major distributors and corporate resellers.
Frontline Now! has the resources to significantly expand the Applixware brand. This allows Applix's internal sales and marketing staff to continue their focus on direct sales opportunities, OEM agreements, and managing their relationships with Linux distribution vendors such as RedHat (NASDAQ:RHAT), Caldera, TurboLinux, and S.U.S.E.
