Westboro, MA, August 23, 1999 -- Applix, Inc. (NASDAQ:APLX), a leader in decision support solutions for the Unix and Linux markets, announced that R. J. Grandpre, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Applix's Linux Division will participate in a panel discussion on the rapidly emerging Linux market. Mr. Grandpre will give an overview of Linux application software products, web portals, and the open source software movement, and how Applix is positioned to take advantage of these emerging opportunities.
