The Genware Audit Processor provides reporting and analysis to extend the reach of application usage information to the Cognos community. It provides advanced administration and auditing information for IBM Cognos 8 Business Intelligence, IBM Cognos ReportNet, Access Manager, IBM Cognos PowerPlay Enterprise Server, IBM Cognos Impromptu, and IBM Cognos Metrics Manager.

Benefits

• Application usage: Reports and analysis cubes provide information on application usage trends. Key dimensions include users, subject areas, and timelines. The information can be used to determine trends and identify functionality that can be decommissioned or may require modification.
• Server utilization: Monitor server usage including how many users are accessing the server, when, and how often. Identify and plan for peak usage times and identify long-running or error yielding requests. The infrastructure administrator can easily determine the subject areas or users executing these long-running requests.
• Performance optimization: Identify long-running reports and address them soon after they occur. The application includes utilization of IBM Cognos PowerPlay cube dimensions and levels. With this information, the cube design can be modified based on actual usage, yielding faster build and response times.
• Security and compliance reporting: Facilitates functional security by assigning security to items within Cognos Upfront or Cognos Connect. This provides information on which items are available to a user class or role. For usage validation, the application provides information on which users access a particular report, cube, metric, or view; and when.
• Administration and license management: Includes valuable reports that provide important information to the application administrator. This reduces the effort required to maintain the user community and security structure.
